Sudanese artist Majzoub Awansa dies in a car accident

Khartoum, Sudan – Sudanese artist Majzoub Awansa passed away this morning following a horrific traffic accident on the road between the cities of Atbara and Omdurman, causing widespread grief among his fans and admirers both inside and outside Sudan.

Art stars mourn the deceased

A large number of Sudanese artists were keen to mourn the deceased through posts on their official social media accounts, recalling his long artistic career and the works he presented that have remained present in the public consciousness since the seventies of the last century.

A busy artistic career

Majzoub Onsa was renowned for his unique performance and melodious voice, which blended the authenticity of Sudanese musical heritage with a modern style. Throughout his artistic career, he presented many successful songs that achieved widespread popularity, most notably his famous patriotic song “Aziz Anta Ya Watani” (You Are Dear to Me, My Country), which is considered one of the highlights of his artistic journey.

A lasting artistic legacy

The passing of Majzoub Onsa is a great loss to the Sudanese art scene, especially since he was one of the voices that preserved the Sudanese musical identity and presented it to new generations with a contemporary spirit, leaving behind an artistic legacy that will remain present in the memory of his fans and audience for many years to come.
