Dubai, UAE – This summer, Arab drama welcomes a highly anticipated new production titled “Salma”, the Arabic adaptation of the acclaimed Turkish series “Woman” (Kadın), which gained wide popularity and was broadcast in more than 60 countries.

Broadcast on MBC and Shahid

“Salma” premieres on Sunday, August 17, 2025, airing on MBC1 and streaming simultaneously on Shahid free of charge. The series will also be broadcast on CBC in Egypt, Sunday to Thursday at 8:00 p.m. Cairo time, with daily reruns.

A Grand Production with a Human Story

Produced by Medyapim, the company behind the original Turkish version, the series is adapted from the Japanese drama “Woman – My Life for My Children” by award-winning screenwriter Yuji Sakamoto.
The story follows a woman who suddenly loses her husband under mysterious circumstances and is left to raise her two children alone, uncovering dramatic secrets from her family’s past.

The lead role of Salma is played by Maram Ali, alongside a stellar lineup of Arab actors, including:

From its very first episodes, the series topped the “most-watched” list on Shahid, with viewers quickly drawing comparisons between the Arabic character Salma and Bahar from the Turkish original, while praising the strong performances and emotional storytelling.
