Bangkok, Thailand – The Emirates Water Sports Federation announced the participation of the UAE national team in the 12th edition of the Asian Swimming Age Group Championship. Which begins on Friday and continues until July 21 in the Thai capital, Bangkok. Within the elite teams of the continent, within the framework of the program to prepare national teams and enhance the experiences of swimmers through contact with Asian levels.
The UAE is represented in the tournament by 7 swimmers. They are: Hussein Shawqi, Hamad Al Shehhi, Abdullah Al Ameri, Saif Jumaan, Muhammad Al Yamahi, Saif Al Yamahi, and Yara Al Muhairi.
The mission is headed by Abdullah Al Wahaibi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Water Sports Federation. It includes Marwan Al-Hattawi, the national team’s technical director, Talal Al-Ali, the national team’s coach, and Naomi Bernadette, the women’s national team administrator.
Abdullah Al Wahaibi stressed that the tournament is an important milestone in the national teams’ preparation program. Pointing out the Federation’s keenness to provide opportunities for external contact for swimmers, which contributes to developing their technical levels and enhancing their readiness for upcoming events.
He added that the Federation is confident in the ability of the national team players to provide levels that reflect the development witnessed by Emirati swimming. Explaining that participation aims, in addition to competition, to gain more experience. And building a generation capable of representing the country honorably in continental and international championships.
