Zurich, Switzerland – FIFA has revealed the refereeing team assigned to officiate the 2026 World Cup final. The match will be between Spain and Argentina on Sunday evening at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, USA.
FIFA’s referees committee has selected Slovenian referee Slavko Vinčić to officiate the final. He will be assisted by his compatriots Tomaš Klanknić and Andraž Kovačić. Jordanian Adham Makhadmeh will serve as the fourth official.
The refereeing team also includes another Arab representative, with Jordanian Mohammed Al-Khalaf appointed as the fifth reserve referee. This further confirms the confidence placed in Arab talent to officiate major international tournaments.
The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) room is headed by German Bastian Dankert. He is assisted by Qatari Khamis Al-Marri, Colombian Nicolás Gallo, Nicaraguan Tatiana Guzmán, and Mexican Guillermo Pacheco.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 10:00 PM on Sunday. Argentina will be aiming for the title after defeating England 2-1, while Spain reached the final after beating France 2-0.
