The FIFA World Cup trophy is set to arrive at the New York-New Jersey stadium, host of the 2026 World Cup final, inside a bespoke luxury trunk designed by the renowned French fashion house Louis Vuitton. This marks the fifth consecutive collaboration between the two parties, reflecting a striking fusion of high-end luxury and global sporting greatness.
A Design Embodying Luxury and Victory
According to reports, the new trunk features a design that marries heritage with modernity, adorned with a golden “V” representing “Victory,” alongside the iconic Louis Vuitton monogram. The trunk is crafted with gold-finished brass corners and lined with beige leather, featuring a special plaque documenting the partnership between the fashion house and FIFA, ensuring the trophy remains protected during its journey to the podium.
A Strategic Partnership with FIFA
The 2026 edition marks the fifth time Louis Vuitton has designed the World Cup trophy trunk, continuing a tradition that began with the 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022 tournaments. Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, stated that the partnership with FIFA is rooted in a shared commitment to excellence and a deep belief in the power of sport to inspire and unite people around the world.
The Growing Presence of Luxury Brands in Sports
This collaboration is part of a broader trend of luxury brands strengthening their presence in major sporting events. While Tiffany & Co. crafts the famous Vince Lombardi Trophy for the NFL, and Louis Vuitton designs official trophy cases for Formula 1 races, the World Cup trophy trunk—normally housed at the FIFA Museum in Zurich—remains one of the most celebrated and anticipated elements of the tournament’s finale.
