Dubai, UAE – The Joint Committee for Security and Safety, chaired by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, launched the seventh edition of the National Campaign for Security and Safety at Fuel Stations. The campaign aims to raise public awareness of safe practices. It also seeks to instill a culture of prevention to protect lives and property.
The campaign is being implemented in cooperation with the General Directorate of Civil Defence at the Ministry of Interior, ADNOC Distribution, Emirates Petroleum (Emarat), and Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC). Moreover, this initiative is part of a national partnership. It is aimed at raising the standards of security, safety, and quality of life in the country.
Coverage of more than 800 gas stations
The campaign runs until August 31, 2026, and targets customers at petrol stations across the UAE. It also aims to disseminate awareness messages encouraging adherence to safety procedures and the adoption of proper practices while refueling.
The campaign covers more than 800 stations. It also focuses specifically on reducing potential risks during the summer months. These months are characterized by high temperatures. Therefore, this step is taken to ensure the safety of station users and employees.
The campaign’s guidelines include the necessity of turning off the vehicle engine while refueling. They also emphasize adhering to safety instructions. Additionally, it emphasizes refraining from using ignition sources or engaging in any behavior that could pose a risk to individuals or property.
60 million accesses for awareness messages
Since its launch seven years ago, the campaign has reached over 60 million people with its awareness messages. Impact assessment results showed that awareness of safety procedures at gas stations has increased to 98.5%.
These results reflect the effectiveness of the campaign in promoting safe behaviors. They also show that adherence to preventive measures is becoming a firmly established daily practice among members of the community.
The campaign also exemplifies cooperation and integration between government agencies and fuel distribution companies. Both parties were able to unite their efforts to raise preventative awareness and implement global best practices in vital sectors.
