Paris, France – The UAE is participating in FIFA Tech 2026 for entrepreneurship and advanced technology. Hosted by the French capital, Paris, from June 17 to 20 under the slogan “Artificial Intelligence.. Influence, not illusion. Abdullah bin Tawq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, headed the UAE delegation participating in the event.
The participation aims to strengthen the UAE’s presence in the global innovation system, and consolidate its position as an attractive center for emerging companies and investments in sectors of the new economy. In addition to supporting emerging Emirati small and medium-sized companies and enabling them to expand and build international partnerships. Exploring opportunities for cooperation in the fields of advanced technology and artificial intelligence.
The delegation participating in the exhibition included representatives of about 20 business incubators and entities concerned with developing entrepreneurship and small and medium enterprises in the Emirates. The global technology ecosystem in Abu Dhabi included Hub71, Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zones Authority Rakez, and Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre Sheraa. Emirates Entrepreneurship Association, Masdar City, United Arab Emirates University, and the Emirates Space Agency.
Sectors of the new economy
The list of participating Emirati startups, small and medium-sized enterprises included ten companies operating in a number of sectors of the new economy. Most notably, modern technology and financial services, food technology, advanced agricultural solutions, and sustainable infrastructure.
Participating Emirati companies showcased advanced innovative services that reflect the diversity of the UAE’s technology sectors. It included digital solutions to connect startups with investors, facilitate and automate financing, and provide financial services to companies. AI-powered point-of-sale and payment platforms for the retail and restaurant sector. Smart solutions to personalize banking services and enhance customer experience.
The UAE products, solutions and services on offer also included integrated platforms for managing digital food supply chains and sustainable trade. Platforms to support companies’ expansion and entry into new markets, advanced software applications and integrated digital solutions. Sustainable agricultural technologies include innovative irrigation systems that operate without electricity, along with advanced artificial intelligence solutions for the real estate and infrastructure sectors. To enhance operational efficiency, support business growth, and accelerate expansion into global markets.
Building economic partnerships
The delegation’s visit also included organizing an economic event on the sidelines of the exhibition, in cooperation with the UAE Embassy in France. With the aim of bringing together Emirati startups with French and international investors and companies, to enhance communication and build economic partnerships. Opening new horizons for cooperation between the two sides during the next stage.
FIFA Tech is one of the world’s leading events specializing in technology and startups. It has become an international platform that brings together technology leaders, investors, and decision-makers from different countries around the world.
This is the tenth edition of the exhibition, as it celebrates a decade since its launch in 2016. Today, it attracts approximately 180,000 visitors, more than 14,000 startups, and 3,600 investors from more than 40 countries.
The Ministry of Economy and Tourism’s participation in this edition for the third time in a row comes as part of its efforts to support the growth of Emirati startups and enhance their presence on international platforms.
