Dubai, UAE – Construction work on the “Billion Meals Date Factory” project began on Thursday in the Margham area of Dubai. To be the largest endowment project of its kind in the world for the production and packaging of dates for humanitarian purposes, with a total capacity of 150 million food units annually.

The factory embodies an inspiring model of humanitarian partnership under the umbrella of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation. Its vision aligns with the private sector’s contributions, represented by businessman Merouis Azizi’s contribution to the construction cost of AED 200 million. Tamoor Al Baraka Company’s distinguished operational experience, and this strategic partnership reflects the integration of roles in the UAE community to provide innovative humanitarian solutions. The country’s status as a world capital is dedicated to joint development work.

Unique global model

The “Billion Meals Date Factory”, which will be completed in 2027, stands out as a unique and innovative global model for industrial endowment. This makes the factory a global center for the production of high-value, integrated meals, with standards that ensure operational efficiency and superior quality. To meet urgent relief needs around the world.

This approach contributes to achieving environmental sustainability and strengthening the UAE’s agricultural identity. Transforming the palm tree from a heritage symbol and local food security into a global production resource that supports humanitarian supply chains from the UAE.
