Abu Dhabi, UAE – The UAE, represented by the UAE Space Agency, participated in the 41st International Astronautical Congress (IAC) held in Colorado Springs, USA. The conference brought together a large number of global space industry leaders, government representatives, business executives, and international experts.
During its participation, the UAE reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its international presence and expanding its strategic partnerships with leading global space agencies and organizations. This aligns with its vision to become a global hub for the space sector.

Strengthening international partnerships

The UAE delegation was headed by Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE Space Agency. He emphasized that the participation reflects the country’s commitment to building long-term partnerships with various international entities. This commitment contributes to the development of advanced technologies and the training of national talent.
He noted that the National Space Strategy 2031 aims to enhance the sector’s contribution to the national economy. Moreover, it seeks to solidify the UAE’s position among the world’s leading space economies.

Review of leading space projects

The agency highlighted its most prominent projects. Foremost among them is the Hope Probe, whose mission has been extended until 2028 after its success in providing unprecedented scientific data about the Martian atmosphere. Furthermore, the mission to explore the asteroid belt was also mentioned.
National programs for developing the space economy were reviewed. In addition, efforts to promote innovation and investment in this vital sector were discussed.

Broad international cooperation

The UAE delegation held a series of meetings with international space agencies, including NASA, the Korea Aerospace Exploration Agency (KAXA), and the French National Centre for Space Studies (CNES). During these meetings, the delegation explored avenues for collaboration on Mars and Lunar exploration programs. They also discussed ways to enhance the implementation of the Artemis Accords.
Representatives from these agencies also participated in dialogue sessions that addressed the development of international partnerships. In addition, they discussed the expansion of cooperation in the space sector.
This participation reflects the UAE’s commitment to strengthening its role in shaping the future of the global space industry. Furthermore, the UAE aims to support innovation and broaden international cooperation in this rapidly growing field.
