Dubai, UAE – Digital Dubai announced the launch of the Artificial Intelligence Program (AI+). Which aims to train 50,000 Dubai government employees. In a joint initiative with the Dubai Government Human Resources Department and the Dubai Center for the Uses of Artificial Intelligence, which is supervised by the Dubai Future Foundation. This is within the framework of the emirate’s efforts to enhance the readiness of government cadres for future requirements and accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence in government work.

The program aims to empower all Dubai government employees with the skills and knowledge necessary to adopt artificial intelligence technologies and employ them in developing government services and institutional operations. This is done through tracks specific to each job category, which contributes to raising productivity, enhancing performance efficiency, and consolidating a culture of work based on innovation.

Empowering government employees

Commenting on the launch of the program, His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, Director General of Digital Dubai, said: “The launch of the AI+ program reflects our commitment to empowering government employees to be more effective in directing technologies to serve humanity, based on data and knowledge. In Dubai, a government employee is no longer just a technology user. Rather, it has become a partner in building smart, proactive services capable of understanding and interacting with people’s needs. Through this program, we are working to establish a new government model based on intelligence. Human capabilities are integrated with artificial intelligence, which contributes to raising productivity, accelerating decision-making, and enhancing the quality of digital life in Dubai. This initiative represents a practical step that contributes to achieving the goals of Dubai’s D33 economic agenda, and enhancing Dubai’s position as a digital city in which human capabilities combine with artificial intelligence to serve humans.

For his part, His Excellency Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of the Human Resources Department of the Government of Dubai, stated: “We in the Government of Dubai believe that investing in people is the basic pillar for accelerating the pace of creating the future”. This is achieved by enhancing the readiness of government personnel with future skills, particularly artificial intelligence. This program aims to enable employees to efficiently harness advanced technologies in the work environment. Which contributes to raising the efficiency of government performance, enhancing productivity, and consolidating the culture of continuous learning and institutional innovation. In line with Dubai’s aspirations to become a global leader in technology and innovation.”

Adopting artificial intelligence applications

In turn, His Excellency Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, said: “Organizing the Artificial Intelligence Program (AI+) reflects our keenness to cooperate with government agencies to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence applications at the Dubai government level”. By building qualitative capabilities that enable government agencies to employ technologies in practical use cases with tangible impact, and developing innovative business models that enhance the efficiency of government work. In implementation of the leadership’s vision and directives on the necessity of establishing an integrated system based on the integration of technology and humanity. It contributes to consolidating the emirate’s global leadership and its readiness for the future.

The program targets all Dubai government employees through specialized training tracks that meet the needs of different job categories. The leadership track includes expert sessions and roundtable discussions that discuss AI opportunities and challenges. In addition to reviewing case studies from leading countries and strategies for adopting artificial intelligence at the government level.

The program also includes a dedicated track for AI CEOs, focusing on implementing the AI policy and framework in Dubai. A review of the capabilities provided by digital Dubai, in addition to practical case studies from government agencies in the emirate. This track is implemented through interactive workshops and communities of practice.

The Product and Service Managers’ Track provides a comprehensive overview of Dubai’s AI policy and framework. Moving from the ideas stage to developing practical use cases, all the way to measuring impact and achieving value. This is done through specialized training programs and applied workshops.

Path of department and division managers

The Department and Division Managers track aims to provide them with the necessary knowledge on ways to adopt artificial intelligence within departments and the use cases for each. In addition to best practices for directing resources in management to ensure improved services and more efficient automation of processes, through leadership sessions and specialized workshops.

The program also includes an employee-oriented track aimed at developing skills in using artificial intelligence in the work environment. Including command engineering strategies, task automation using artificial intelligence agents, and specialized productivity applications according to the nature of each field of work. This track is delivered through virtual seminars, in-person training, and virtual courses.

The program’s outcomes are expected to contribute to enhancing employees’ knowledge of artificial intelligence, accelerating productivity levels, and building sustainable institutional capabilities. Supporting the adoption of artificial intelligence and innovation to enhance Dubai’s leadership in developing a future government model based on advanced technologies.
