Rafah, Gaza – Yesterday, Thursday, the “Gallant Knight 3” operation team conducted a field inspection tour of the implementation site of the “Lifeline” project, in cooperation with the Coastal Municipalities Water Authority in Gaza, which aims to supply the southern regions of the Gaza Strip with sustainable water lines, within the framework of major relief and humanitarian projects implemented by the United Arab Emirates to support the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
This project is considered one of the most vital projects that come in response to the increasing needs of displaced people and local residents, in light of the serious humanitarian deterioration resulting from the ongoing war.
It is implemented in cooperation with the Coastal Municipalities Water Authority in Gaza, and in coordination with the competent authorities on the Egyptian side.
The new water line extends for 7 kilometers, starting from the Emirati desalination plants on the Egyptian side of Rafah, all the way to the Al-Mawasi area in the southern Gaza Strip, one of the areas most crowded with displaced people.
It is expected that about 600,000 citizens will benefit from this project, including a large number of children, women and the elderly.
The project aims to provide clean and safe water supplies that alleviate the humanitarian and health burdens facing the population, especially in light of limited resources, frequent water outages, and rising temperatures.
These efforts are part of a comprehensive plan launched by the UAE under the umbrella of Operation “Gallant Knight 3”, which includes a wide package of relief, medical, and construction projects for the benefit of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
The project is being implemented under the supervision of Emirati teams and in technical and field cooperation with the Sahel Municipalities Water Authority, to ensure compliance with technical standards and local needs.
The technical teams implementing the project confirmed that the pace of work is proceeding rapidly, and that executive work is proceeding according to the specified timetable, in preparation for operating the line and pumping water to the distribution areas as soon as possible.
This project reflects the UAE’s commitment to providing sustainable and effective humanitarian support to the Gaza Strip, particularly in light of the unprecedented challenges it faces, with the ongoing aggression and the collapse of essential infrastructure across various sectors.
The “lifeline” is expected to contribute to alleviating the daily suffering of thousands of families, and to constitute a model for regional and international cooperation in confronting humanitarian crises.
