Arlington, USA – The Egyptian Football Association denied reports of a confrontation between Ibrahim Hassan, the Egyptian national team manager, and a member of security at the Pharaohs’ team hotel in the United States. They confirmed that the incident was merely a minor altercation that ended quickly.
The federation’s media center explained in an official statement that the incident began when an Egyptian child was pushed by a member of security while trying to take a souvenir photo with the national team players.
The statement added that Ibrahim Hassan immediately intervened to protect the child and prevent him from coming to any harm. This led to a brief verbal altercation with the security guard, before the situation was quickly resolved without any escalation.
The federation confirmed that reports circulating in recent hours regarding a crisis within the team’s accommodation are completely unfounded. It also emphasized that the team’s preparations for the upcoming match are proceeding normally.
The Egyptian national team continues its preparations to meet its Australian counterpart on Friday evening, as part of the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup. This comes after it finished the group stage in second place behind the Belgian national team.
