Cairo, Egypt – Zamalek SC has clarified its position regarding the circulating news about the transfer of Brazilian Juan Bezerra, the team’s winger, to Shabab Al Ahli during the current summer transfer window.
Zamalek issued an official statement denying that the player had been given permission to leave for any other club, after news circulated that Bezerra had traveled to the UAE in preparation for joining Shabab Al-Ahli.
Reports had indicated the possibility of the player moving to Al-Ahly Youth Club, after he refused to return to Cairo and participate in Zamalek’s training sessions during the past period.
Zamalek confirmed that it has no information regarding the rumors about Bezerra potentially traveling to the UAE to sign with one of the clubs there, stressing that no official approval has been issued allowing the player to leave.
The club reiterated its position, which it announced when Bezerra stopped training at the beginning of this month, stressing that it will not give up its rights or back down from demanding that the player return to the team and resume training.
Zamalek indicated that Bezerra’s contract with the club extends for the next three seasons, stressing its continued commitment to bringing the player back to the team in the coming period.
