Norway eliminates Ivory Coast and qualifies for the round of 16 of the World Cup (video)

Arlington, USA – Norway secured their place in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup. This came after they defeated Ivory Coast 2-1 in their match on Tuesday evening as part of the round of 32.

The match, which was exciting until the final minutes, was held at the AT&T Stadium, before the Norwegian team secured the victory.

Antonio Nossa gave Norway the lead in the 39th minute, after dribbling past several defenders inside the penalty area. He then unleashed a powerful shot that found the back of the net.

In the second half, Amad Diallo brought the game back to square one by scoring the equalizer for Ivory Coast in the 74th minute. He took advantage of a superb pass from Nicolas Pepe on the edge of the penalty area, shooting the ball directly into the goal.

Four minutes before the end, Erling Haaland snatched the winning goal and qualification for Norway in the 86th minute. This happened after he went one-on-one with the goalkeeper following a perfect pass from Patrick Berg, putting the ball into the net and securing the ticket to the next round.
