Cleveland, USA – The Egyptian national team concluded its preparations for the 2026 World Cup finals with a 2-1 loss to Brazil. The match was a friendly played this evening at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland, USA.
The match served as the Pharaohs’ final test before the start of the World Cup, scheduled to be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
The Brazilian team entered the match strongly and succeeded in opening the scoring early through Bruno Guimarães in the seventh minute, after he took advantage of a mistake in building the attack by the Egyptian team to go one-on-one with the goalkeeper and put the ball in the net.
The Pharaohs did not wait long to respond, as Mostafa Zico managed to equalize just four minutes later, taking advantage of a mistaken pass from Marquinhos, to pounce on the ball and put it into the net past goalkeeper Alisson Becker in the 11th minute.
In the second half, the Brazilian team regained their lead through the young striker Andre Felipe, who capitalized on a perfect pass from Rafinha and successfully shot it into the net of Mustafa Shobeir in the 52nd minute.

Despite the loss, the Egyptian national team put on good performances during the match against one of the top contenders for the World Cup title, in a tough test before the official start of their campaign in the tournament.
