Paris, France – Didier Deschamps, the coach of the French national team, spoke about “Les Bleus'” ambitions in the 2026 World Cup, stressing that winning the World Cup remains the most prominent achievement for any player or coach in the world of football.
The French national team is in Group 9, along with the national teams of Senegal, Norway and Iraq.
Deschamps told FIFA’s official website: “There is no feeling like winning the World Cup; it is the ultimate dream for everyone who works in football”.
He added: “By nature, I focus on the present and what awaits me in the future, and I don’t concern myself much with what happened in the past”.
He continued: “The moments I lived through in 1998 and 2018 will remain etched in my memory forever, but they have become part of history. Now, all my attention is focused on the upcoming challenges and what we can achieve in the next stage”.
