Liverpool, England – Egyptian star Mohamed Salah brought his historic journey with Liverpool to a close, after playing his last match in the Reds’ jersey against Brentford on Sunday evening at Anfield Stadium, as part of the final round of the English Premier League.
Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw by visitors Brentford, on a night dominated by farewell emotions inside the Anfield stands.
Mohamed Salah left his final mark in the Reds’ shirt, after creating his team’s only goal in the 58th minute, following a brilliant pass from the right side to Curtis Jones, who easily put the ball into the net.
The match witnessed emotional moments, after the coaching staff decided to substitute Salah in the 74th minute, so the Egyptian star left the field amidst warm applause and chants from Liverpool fans, before Dutchman Jeremy Frimpong took his place.

Salah also went to greet the Reds fans and took a number of commemorative photos inside Anfield Stadium, amid an emotional atmosphere and great interaction from the fans.
The captain of the Egyptian national team could not hold back his tears, as he appeared visibly moved on the pitch with his children, while Liverpool fans chanted special slogans in his name in a touching scene.
Mohamed Salah had previously announced his departure from Liverpool at the end of the current season, after a journey that lasted 9 years, during which he achieved many championships and historic accomplishments with the English club.
The 33-year-old has not yet decided on his next destination, despite being linked with a number of clubs in the Italian and Saudi leagues.
