Abu Dhabi, UAE – Al Ain coach Vladimir Ivic has confirmed that his team will enter the President’s Cup final against Al Jazira with only one goal in mind: victory. He emphasized the importance of the tournament for “The Boss” (Al Ain’s nickname).
Al Ain will face Al Jazira on Friday evening at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. This will be the final match of the 2025-2026 football season.
Ivic said during the pre-match press conference: “We came to give our best, win, and bring the cup home. We know the match will be difficult against a strong team, but we have faith in ourselves and in the abilities of our players”.
He added: “I am confident that the players will be at the highest level of readiness, and they will do everything they can to please Al Ain fans and everyone who belongs to the club”.
The Serbian coach expressed his pride in what Al Ain’s players had achieved throughout the season. He also emphasized that the team had clearly improved both technically and mentally.
He explained: “I am very proud of the players, because they have grasped the style of play we are working on. They have also shown great commitment throughout the season, which has been reflected in the results we have achieved”.
Ivica pointed out that his complete focus is solely on his team, without being preoccupied with the opponent’s style of play or their preparations for the match.
He said: “Both teams know each other very well, and we might see some surprises on the pitch. But my main focus remains on what my team needs to deliver”.
The Al Ain coach confirmed that preparations for the final began immediately after securing the ADNOC Pro League title. He explained that all the players understand the importance of the tournament and the club’s desire to end the season with another trophy.
He concluded his remarks by saying: “We want to experience a new joy with our fans. When you believe in the work and achieve accomplishments, all the challenges and difficulties become behind you, and only moments of joy remain”.
