London, England – Chelsea suffered a heavy defeat at home to Nottingham Forest, losing 3-1 in the match that brought them together on Monday evening as part of the 35th round of the English Premier League, at Stamford Bridge.

The visitors surprised the home side with an early goal in the second minute through Taiwo Awoniyi, before Igor Jesus extended the lead with a second goal in the 15th minute from a penalty kick.
Chelsea tried to get back into the game during the first half, and were awarded a penalty before the end, but Cole Palmer missed it, missing the chance to reduce the deficit.
In the second half, Nottingham continued their dominance, with Onyeh scoring his second personal goal and his team’s third in the 52nd minute, confirming the visitors’ control of the match.

Joao Pedro scored a goal for Chelsea in the 74th minute, but it was disallowed for offside, before the same player managed to score a goal to reduce the deficit in the 92nd minute, in a wonderful scissor kick.

With this result, Nottingham Forest raised its tally to 42 points in sixteenth place, while Chelsea’s tally remained frozen at 48 points in ninth place.
