Lisbon, Portugal – Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane spoke about his team’s valuable victory over Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
Bayern Munich had secured an important 2-1 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu, putting one foot in the semi-finals before the second leg.
Keane scored the second goal for the Bavarian team, after Luis Diaz had opened the scoring.
Keane said, in comments highlighted by the BBC: “Amid the atmosphere and the great pressure surrounding this match, coming to Madrid and achieving a positive result is extremely difficult.”
He added: “We created a number of good chances, and the team put on a strong performance that deserves praise. We can feel very happy with this win, and we look forward to what’s coming in the second leg.”
He continued: “We are now in a crucial stage of the season, and the more we play and train together, the stronger and more confident we become. We always feel that we are capable of making a difference and scoring goals.”
Kane concluded his remarks by saying: “We are in a good position at the moment, but the most important thing is to maintain our focus. We will work on recovering well, and then prepare to repeat the same performance in next week’s match.”
