  • International Calls for Restraint and Avoiding Escalation

Southern Lebanon, Lebanon – Hezbollah renewed its categorical denial of the recent accusations directed at it. These accusations talk about its direct targeting of the UNIFIL forces operating there. Confirming at the same time that these circulating allegations are completely baseless. Furthermore, the party considered that these claims fall within systematic campaigns. These political and media campaigns aim to distort its firm position in Southern Lebanon.

On the other hand, the party clearly explained the nature of its relationship with international forces. This field relationship is based on a firm rule of no direct friction. It confirmed its extreme keenness to facilitate all field tasks of the UNIFIL forces. This is done within the scope of the official mandate granted by the Security Council. Accordingly, this cooperation contributes to supporting stability in the border region.

Confrontation Priorities and Protecting UNIFIL Forces and Civilians

In a related context, the party indicated that its strategic priority is clear and specific. This priority focuses on confronting the repeated and continuous Israeli attacks on Lebanese territories. In addition to that, the statement pointed out that its military operations are limited to specific targets. These operations exclusively target Israeli military sites and nothing else. Consequently, they do not include any international or civilian forces working within their official tasks. This includes the UNIFIL forces, which are respected for their humanitarian and security missions.

Moreover, the statement stressed holding Israel fully and directly responsible. This is for any military escalation witnessed by the southern borders currently. This comes in light of the continuation of escalating field tensions and continuous exchange of accusations. These accusations relate to the developments of the dangerous security situation in that sensitive region.

International Calls for Restraint and Avoiding Escalation

On another note, these developments coincide with continuous and intensive international calls. The international community demands the necessity of restraint to avoid exacerbating the current crisis. The world is striving strongly to prevent the widening of the military confrontation in the region. In conclusion, ensuring the security and safety of the UNIFIL forces remains a crucial international demand. This is to ensure the continuation of peacekeeping efforts under these exceptional circumstances.
