Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Saudi newspaper “Al-Riyadh” revealed today, Monday, that Al-Hilal club has reached an agreement to finalize the signing of Frenchman Karim Benzema, the striker of Al-Ittihad club, during the current winter transfer period.
Benzema’s contract with Al-Ittihad expires at the end of the current season, granting him the right to sign with any club for free. Al-Hilal capitalized on this, entering negotiations aggressively and securing the deal.
The newspaper confirmed that Benzema has become a player in Al-Hilal’s ranks as of the current transfer window.
In the same vein, reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano indicated that Karim Benzema has agreed to all the details of Al-Hilal’s offer presented to him today. Only a few final procedures remain between the two clubs, after which the player will receive an official call from Al-Hilal’s management to finalize the deal.
Al-Hilal’s move came after renewal negotiations between Benzema and Al-Ittihad stalled. The player rejected the latest offer, which only included image rights with no financial compensation, a move that angered him and led to his absence from the team’s last two matches.
The French star participated with Al-Ittihad in 21 matches across various competitions this season, during which he scored 16 goals.
