Doha, Qatar – The UAE national team is gathering its full strength and readiness ahead of its crucial match against Algeria this Friday evening in the Arab Cup quarter-finals, aiming to write a new chapter in the team’s history in the tournament.

Our national team is scheduled to meet its Algerian counterpart at Al Bayt Stadium, as part of the quarter-final competitions.

The UAE national team had a difficult journey in the group stage of the Arab Cup, having been drawn into a group with Egypt, Jordan, and Kuwait.

The UAE national team began its group stage campaign with a defeat against Jordan in a thrilling match. They came close to securing a positive result, but errors changed the course of the game in Jordan’s favor.

In the second round, our team fell into the trap of a draw against Egypt, after coming close to achieving victory. They had taken the lead against the Pharaohs with a goal in the 60th minute, scored by Caio Lucas.

In a defensive lapse in the 85th minute, Egypt equalized through a header from Marwan Hamdi.

In the third round of the tournament, the UAE national team achieved a resounding victory over Kuwait with three goals to one.

The victory raised the UAE’s points tally to 4, securing their qualification as runners-up in Group B. They capitalized on Egypt’s loss to Jordan, which left them with only 2 points.

Our national team will have the opportunity today to make history in the tournament. They are aiming to surpass their previous best finish, fourth place in the 1998 edition.

The UAE national team enters the match with high confidence and morale after their recent thrilling 3-1 victory over Kuwait.

But the UAE’s ambitions will face a significant challenge against the experience of the Algerian players, the Desert Warriors, who are aiming for their second consecutive title after winning the previous edition.

UAE coach Cosmin will reaffirm his confidence in the solidity of his back four, led by Sasha and Pimenta, hoping to address the defensive vulnerability in dealing with set pieces, which have become the easiest weapon to use against goalkeeper Hamad Al-Muqbali.

He is also expected to rely on Nicolas Jimenez and Yahya Al-Ghasani, who shone in midfield in the last Kuwait match.

The UAE vs Algeria match is today in the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup

The UAE national team is scheduled to meet Algeria this evening, Friday, at Al Bayt Stadium in Qatar, at 9:30 PM Abu Dhabi time, 8:00 PM Saudi time, and 7:30 PM Cairo time.
