Al Wahda Strengthens Lead in President’s Cup for Jiu-Jitsu as Second Round Concludes

At the end of the round, Al Wahda Club maintained its position at the top of the overall standings, followed by Baniyasin second place, and Al Jazira in third, setting the stage for even greater excitement in the upcoming rounds for the nation’s most prestigious title.

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – The second round of the President’s Cup for Jiu-Jitsu concluded on Friday evening at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi. A large crowd attended the event, with participation from elite athletes in the over-18 category. They represented top clubs and academies across the nation.

The matches featured high-level technical and physical performances, reflecting the competition’s intensity. The professional organization of the tournament highlights the pivotal role of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation. It promotes the sport and its values within society.

Al Wahda on Top

At the end of the round, Al Wahda Club maintained its position at the top of the overall standings. They were followed by Baniyasin second place, and Al Jazira in third. This set the stage for even greater excitement in the upcoming rounds for the nation’s most prestigious title.

Official Attendance

The event was attended by H.E. Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation. Also present were H.E. Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Board Member of the Federation, and Mubarak Saleh Al Menhali, Technical Director of the Federation. Hamed Al Shereifi, Deputy CEO of Business Support at ADNOC, along with several partners, club officials, and academy representatives also attended.

Statements

H.E. Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri emphasized that the championship serves as a key platform. It prepares athletes for continental and international competitions. He pointed out that the unwavering support of the UAE leadership is the driving force behind the sport’s continued success in the country.

For his part, Hamed Al Shereifi stressed that ADNOC’s sponsorship of the championship reflects its strong commitment to community engagement. It plays a role in supporting the development of a generation of athletes capable of competing on the global stage.

Meanwhile, Al Ain coach Zayed Al Kaabi noted that the tournament’s prestige makes every bout feel like a final. Al Wahda athlete Omar Al Suwaidi expressed his pride in participating. He affirmed the team’s strong chances of retaining the title for the second consecutive year.
