Beirut, Lebanon – Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri has affirmed Lebanon’s adherence to its national positions during the current phase, emphasizing Hezbollah’s commitment to a ceasefire. Berri explained that this commitment aims to provide a suitable environment for the success of the ongoing diplomatic path between the United States and Iran, away from any field tensions.

Calm as a Tool to Support Negotiations

Berri clarified that continued adherence to calm reflects Lebanon’s keenness to avoid any escalation that could undermine regional political efforts. He pointed out that stable conditions represent a common interest for all parties involved, considering calm as the most effective way to ensure the efficacy of diplomatic movements in the region.

Calm as a Priority Amid Rapid Developments

The Parliament Speaker noted that maintaining the ceasefire gains special importance in light of the rapid diplomatic developments the region is witnessing. He stressed that Lebanon is following these developments closely and is keen not to hinder opportunities to reach understandings that strengthen the pillars of regional security and stability.

International Anticipation for U.S.-Iran Communication Results

Berri’s statements come at a time when eyes are turning toward the results of the negotiations and communications currently taking place between Washington and Tehran. There is anticipation that the expected understandings will contribute to reducing regional tension levels, opening the door to broader political and security arrangements.

Potential Repercussions on the Lebanese Arena

Observers believe that the success of the negotiation path between the United States and Iran may have direct repercussions on a number of sensitive files in the region. At the forefront of these files is the internal situation in Lebanon, where many political and security issues are linked to regional balances, making Lebanese stability an integral part of the success of those understandings.
