Cairo, Egypt – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi delivered two key messages amid what he described as the “painful and harsh circumstances engulfing the region.” These remarks came in a speech he gave this morning, Thursday, on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the glorious July Revolution. During his speech, he reviewed the national struggle and comprehensive development undertaken by the country since 2014, emphasizing Egypt’s steadfast position on issues of national security and regional cooperation. He also affirmed the commitment to building a promising future for the country despite the formidable challenges and turmoil surrounding the Middle East.
A message of peace: A global call to end wars and reject aggression against our brothers
President Sisi’s first message focused on “peace,” describing Egypt as a strong, peace-loving nation. He called on the world to exert every effort to end wars and conflicts, particularly in the Middle East. He also urged confronting destructive tendencies that perpetuate hatred, bloodshed, and devastation. He stressed the necessity of continuing serious efforts to achieve a just peace that guarantees stability and prosperity for all peoples. He affirmed that history has proven that violence only brings more ruin and destruction. Sisi reiterated Egypt’s firm stance against any aggression towards fellow Arab nations, calling on all parties involved to refrain from using force, exercise restraint, and de-escalate tensions. He also called for a return to the negotiating table.
vA message of hope: A firm will to build the new republic
In contrast, the second message, addressed to the great Egyptian people, was imbued with a spirit of hope and optimism. President Sisi affirmed that the future holds even greater promise, thanks to God’s grace and guidance. He emphasized the ongoing efforts to build a promising future based on a scientific vision and to combat corruption in all its forms.
The President also commemorated the glorious July Revolution and the June 30 Revolution, stressing that they present an opportunity to evaluate past experiences and build upon achievements to continue constructing the new republic. He further praised the comprehensive development initiatives launched in 2014. These initiatives have encompassed combating terrorism, building infrastructure, developing the health, education, and tourism sectors, and launching the national “Decent Life” project to improve the living standards of millions of citizens.
Honoring sacrifices and affirming the nation’s resilience
In closing, President El-Sisi praised the efforts of the proud Egyptian people, their valiant army, their civilian police, and all state institutions for their unity in confronting challenges and protecting the nation’s identity. He also paid tribute to the souls of the righteous martyrs, affirming that Egypt is protected by God’s grace and fortified by the awareness of its people and the strength of its soldiers. He emphasized that it will always remain a bastion of stability.
