Amman, Jordan – In a serious escalation, the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army – announced on Friday morning that its air defense systems successfully intercepted three Iranian missiles that had penetrated the Kingdom’s airspace. The Armed Forces were able to intercept and shoot down these missiles before they reached their targets within Jordanian territory.
Immediate defensive measures to secure sovereignty
An official military source confirmed that dealing with the missile threat was carried out according to the highest levels of readiness and approved defensive measures. This is within the framework of the state’s efforts to ensure the protection of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, secure its airspace, and maintain the security and safety of citizens. The source indicated that the interception process was completed successfully. No human injuries or significant material damage were recorded as a result of the incident.
Royal engineering teams secure the sites
Following the interception, Royal Engineers teams began their work at the sites where missile fragments landed. They surveyed the area, handled the projectile remnants, and secured them according to strict technical and security procedures followed in such cases. This step was taken to ensure that there were no additional risks to the safety of residents in the areas where the fragments landed.
