  • US military reinforcements in Israel

Tel Aviv, Israel – Israel is closely monitoring the escalating military tensions between the United States and Iran, remaining cautiously vigilant. It has so far stayed out of direct confrontation since the latest ceasefire. Despite this restraint, Tel Aviv has affirmed its readiness to engage in combat should the US position change. Currently, the US stance favors keeping Israel out of the ongoing conflict.

Israeli preparedness and mutual deterrence

Although Israel did not participate in the latest round of escalation, Sunday saw the launch of Israeli interceptor missiles after debris from Iranian missiles targeting the Jordanian city of Aqaba was detected. Tel Aviv considered this a potential threat to the city of Eilat. In this context, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz vowed a “strong” response if Iran launches missiles toward Israel. He also affirmed Tel Aviv’s readiness to take both defensive and offensive measures should the American position change. For his part, Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir emphasized that the army maintains a high level of readiness to resume fighting immediately.

Strategic differences between Washington and Tel Aviv

These developments come amid a clear divergence between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the conduct of military operations. While Trump views the continuation of the war as a political liability, Netanyahu faces domestic pressure as the October elections approach. This comes against a backdrop of criticism of the war’s results, which have failed to achieve their stated objectives of eliminating Iran’s nuclear program or toppling its regime. Sources also indicate that Washington has informed Israel of its intention to escalate its attacks against Iran in the coming days. There is a strong US determination to exclude Israel from the current escalation to avoid “breaking the rules of engagement.”

US military reinforcements in Israel

As part of preemptive measures, the United States has transferred additional equipment and ammunition to Israel in recent hours. In addition, refueling aircraft and F-16 and F-35 fighter jets have arrived from bases in Germany and the United Kingdom. These reinforcements underscore the seriousness of US preparations for expanding operations. It is estimated that dozens of US military aircraft are now stationed at Israeli bases and airfields. This reflects intensive logistical coordination aimed at bolstering US forces in the region. Meanwhile, Israel remains cautiously vigilant regarding the potential outcome of a direct confrontation between Washington and Tehran.
