Athens, Greece – A Greek shipping company announced that two of its oil tankers were attacked in separate incidents while sailing near the Strait of Hormuz.

This latest incident reflects the escalating security risks threatening

maritime traffic in one of the world’s most important oil and gas shipping lanes.

Escalating military tensions in the Gulf

The company explained that the two tankers were targeted while crossing the area,

which led to fires breaking out on board.

Meanwhile, emergency and rescue teams rushed to deal with the accident

and contain the damage, without any casualties reported so far.

This development comes in light of the escalation of military tensions in the Gulf region,

where the Strait of Hormuz is witnessing a state of security alert

with increasing fears of commercial ships and oil tankers being attacked.

These attacks may affect global trade and energy supplies.

Reassessment of maritime routes

Observers believe that continued targeting of oil tankers in the vicinity of

the Strait of Hormuz could prompt shipping companies to reassess their maritime routes.

This could impact shipping costs and global oil prices, at a time when international

markets are cautiously monitoring developments.

This comes amid fears of a wider escalation in the region.
