Washington, DC – Fox News, in an analytical report supported by expert opinions, revealed the behind-the-scenes story of Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei’s disappearance. The report indicated that Khamenei’s son is employing a strict strategy of secrecy reminiscent of the final days of former al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. This is seen as an attempt to protect himself from any potential external targeting.
The operational isolation of the Supreme Leader’s son
In an exclusive interview with Fox News, counterterrorism expert Omar Mohammad confirmed that Mojtaba Khamenei has been in a state of complete and unprecedented seclusion for nearly three months.
Mohammad explained that intensified security measures and successive intelligence strikes have forced the Iranian leadership to curtail the movements of the Supreme Leader’s son to an unprecedented degree. He described this pattern as “complete operational isolation.” Speaking to Fox News, Mohammad added, “External pressures and persistent security threats have forced the future leader of the Islamic Republic to descend to the same level of operational seclusion that bin Laden experienced for 10 years in Abbottabad, Pakistan.”
Cutting off communications and relying on intermediaries
According to the analysis published by the network, the similarities between Khamenei and bin Laden extend beyond mere secrecy. They also encompass communication mechanisms and the management of daily operations.
Omar Mohammed cited the strict security protocols employed by the al-Qaeda leader, stating, “Bin Laden lived in Abbottabad, completely isolated from any technological or electronic communication. All his directives and messages were transmitted manually and only through two highly trusted intermediaries to ensure that the signals could not be traced.” Reports indicate that Mojtaba Khamenei is currently employing the same classic methods of concealment. He is also abandoning all modern communication methods that could facilitate his infiltration or location tracking by advanced technology.
From caves to fortified complexes
According to expert Omar Mohammed, Tehran drew profound lessons from the operation to eliminate Bin Laden in Pakistan in 2011. The most prominent lesson learned by the Iranian leadership is that “the safest hideout is not necessarily remote caves or rugged mountains, but rather walled and fortified residential compounds located within military cities or areas under absolute security control.”
The counterterrorism expert concluded his analysis by pointing to the security geography of the hideout, explaining that bin Laden lived just one kilometer from Pakistan’s most important military academy, concealed behind high concrete walls.
Mohammad believes that Tehran has meticulously replicated this model. He suggests that Mojtaba Khamenei is currently located within fully fortified and equipped underground compounds. These compounds are situated directly adjacent to vital installations and protected bases belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, ensuring the highest levels of security.
