Washington, DC – Warnings from the US and the UN regarding the domestic and regional policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran are escalating. In this context, political and human rights perspectives converge on the assertion that Tehran is exploiting temporary periods of calm to reorganize its military forces abroad and is also tightening its security grip domestically.
Scott told Fox News: Tehran continues to support its proxies and targets Americans.
In this context, prominent Republican Senator Rick Scott warned in an exclusive interview with Fox News that Iran remains committed to its hostile agenda despite the recent war and the blows its network of allies has suffered. Scott emphasized that Tehran is striving by all means to rebuild its weapons arsenal and develop its offensive capabilities. Furthermore, it continues to seek to kill American citizens and destroy the State of Israel.
The Republican senator added that the Iranian government continues to provide full financial and logistical support to Hamas, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the Houthi movement in Yemen. As a result of this support, regional security is threatened. In a related matter, Scott praised the firm policy pursued by US President Donald Trump toward Tehran, particularly regarding the deployment of deterrent forces to protect international navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
Executions as a weapon to impose terror and suppress protests
On the human rights front, the issue of internal violations in Iran has opened a new front of criticism. Barry Rosen, a diplomat and former hostage at the US Embassy in Tehran, warned against the current regime’s behavior.
In a post on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter), Rosen asserted that Iranian authorities have intensified their wave of political executions to an alarming degree. He added that they have exploited the temporary ceasefire with the United States to deliver decisive blows to the internal opposition.
Rosen cited official reports from Amnesty International, The New York Times, and the Center for Human Rights. He explained that Tehran authorities employ executions and unfair court rulings as a systematic political tool to create a climate of fear and widespread terror. The aim is to deter potential protesters and prevent any new popular movement that might threaten the regime’s stability.
