Tel Aviv, Israel – The region has entered a new phase of heightened military escalation, with Israel’s Channel 12 reporting that security and military forces in Tel Aviv are on high alert and fully prepared to resume direct military attacks against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
These rapid developments come amid intensive and ongoing Israeli preparations for a potential protracted and intense round of fighting. It is worth noting that this round could last for days or even weeks.
Preparations for a battle that could last for days and weeks
The Hebrew channel quoted its military correspondent as saying that senior security officials confirmed the Israeli army has placed its combat units and air defenses on high alert. The correspondent explained that Israeli assessments indicate the anticipated confrontation with Tehran will not be a brief strike, but could extend over a relatively long period, requiring a sustained strategic approach. Therefore, preparations are underway for a period that could last for weeks in anticipation of potential Iranian responses.
Elkin: The goal is to weaken the Iranian regime, and the decision rests with Trump.
In the same vein, Israeli Minister Ze’ev Elkin made significant and unprecedented statements during an interview with the official Israeli radio station, categorically asserting that Israel is “ready and its army is fully prepared to launch military attacks on Iran and its vital and strategic facilities, with the primary objective of destabilizing its political system.” In a highly significant political gesture revealing the extent of coordination with its American ally, Minister Elkin added in his radio interview that the final green light for these major attacks now rests “with US President Donald Trump.”
Painful blows to force Tehran to negotiate
Channel 12 reported that the level of preparedness among the leadership has reached its peak in anticipation of resuming war plans and air operations against targets deep inside Iran.
The channel indicated that the current Israeli strategy does not aim for total destruction. Rather, it focuses on delivering “painful and decisive strikes” against Iranian facilities. These strikes would be sufficient to break Tehran’s red lines and force the Iranian leadership to return to the negotiating table within days of the attack commencing.
