Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, received a phone call from Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of the Italian Republic. During the call, they discussed the dangerous developments unfolding in the region amid the ongoing military escalation. They also discussed the repercussions of this escalation on regional security and stability. In addition, the conversation touched upon the Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and several other brotherly nations.

Italian condemnation of the attacks

During the call, the Italian Prime Minister expressed her country’s condemnation of the Iranian attacks on Emirati territory. She emphasized that these attacks constitute a clear violation of international law and the UN Charter, and pose a threat to the region’s security and stability.

Emirati appreciation of the Italian position

For his part, the President expressed his gratitude and appreciation for Italy’s supportive stance towards the UAE. This support reflects the depth of the strategic relations between the two countries and their shared commitment to strengthening cooperation across various fields.

Emphasis on preventing the conflict from escalating

Both sides stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to maintain the region’s security and stability. They also emphasized the importance of working to prevent the conflict from escalating, as this could have serious repercussions for regional and international peace and security. Both parties affirmed the necessity of supporting diplomatic channels to contain the current tensions.
