Tehran, Iran – The Iranian armed forces announced Thursday morning that they had launched large-scale drone attacks targeting military sites and bases in Kuwait and Jordan. These operations were described as a direct response to recent US military strikes. The announcement was made in an official statement broadcast on Iranian state television. This occurred amid an unprecedented escalation of open regional confrontations.

In the Kuwaiti context, the Kuwaiti army announced early Thursday morning that its air defense systems had successfully intercepted hostile Iranian drones attempting to penetrate Kuwaiti airspace. A subsequent Iranian military statement detailed the targets struck within Kuwaiti territory. These included “ammunition depots and logistics sites belonging to the US military at Camp Doha, fuel tanks at Ali Al Salem Air Base, and an ammunition depot at Camp Arifjan.”

Official Kuwaiti condemnation and diplomatic moves

On the diplomatic and political front, the State of Kuwait strongly condemned the blatant Iranian aggression targeting its territory and vital infrastructure. In this context, Kuwait’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Nasser Al-Hain, stressed that Iran’s aggressive behavior had reached dangerous and unprecedented levels of escalation. Furthermore, he noted its deliberate disregard for all international laws and conventions that protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.

Revolutionary Guard attacks target air defense systems in Jordan

In a related escalation of regional tensions, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced on Thursday morning that it had carried out precise attacks targeting and destroying a number of vital military installations and facilities inside Jordanian territory. This came as the series of tit-for-tat strikes between Washington and Tehran continued. The attacks occurred within the context of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

According to an official statement issued by the Revolutionary Guard and carried by state media, the list of targets destroyed in Jordan included a radar belonging to the advanced US THAAD missile defense system, a Patriot air defense system, and another C-RAM radar. A military helicopter hangar was also among the targets. This reflects the expansion of the attacks to include US-allied military infrastructure in the region.
