Tehran, Iran – The Iranian presidency confirmed that President Masoud Pezeshkian told Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during a phone call that the continued US naval blockade constitutes a violation of the ceasefire.
Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts continue to restart negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
Regional coordination and intensive communication
Shahbaz Sharif explained that during the call he reviewed the results of his consultations with leaders in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey.
He also affirmed his country’s continued role as a mediator to promote regional stability.
He noted his appreciation for Iran’s engagement.
Furthermore, he mentioned that Iran had sent a high-level delegation
to Islamabad for what he described as “historic” talks.
Preparations for a new round of negotiations
This coincided with heightened security measures in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.
Meanwhile, all eyes are on a possible new round of talks between the United States and Iran.
AFP reported a heavy security presence and the closure of major roads, particularly around venues hosting delegations.
American moves and official anticipation
In the same vein, Donald Trump announced that a US delegation would arrive in Islamabad for talks on Iran.
However, there has been no official confirmation from either Pakistan or Tehran so far.
A previous round of talks was held without reaching a final agreement.
Observers are watching closely to see what the current diplomatic efforts will yield amid ongoing regional tensions.
