Abuja – Over 20 people were killed during armed clashes between the Kambari and Fulani communities in central Nigeria. Consequently, local parliamentary representatives urged federal authorities to deploy heavy security forces to contain the situation and prevent further bloodshed.

Lawmaker Jaafaru Mohammed reported that local militias carried out the killings amid widespread fears of violence spreading to neighboring villages. Furthermore, intercommunal friction continues to escalate due to allegations linking certain Fulani members to regional armed groups.

Militant Activity and Cycle of Retaliatory Violence

On the other hand, repeated retaliatory attacks against Fulani pastoralists have driven some individuals to seek protection from extremist organizations. Additionally, local armed groups previously launched raids that resulted in dozens of civilian casualties across the agricultural zone.

Consequently, the region has suffered for years from organized cattle rustling networks and violent kidnapping gangs. Ultimately, these criminal elements periodically coordinate operations with insurgent factions connected to regional terror networks.

Finally, the resurgence of clashes highlights the growing security breakdown across central Nigeria. Ultimately, prompt security intervention and civilian protection remain essential to restoring long-term stability.
