Amman, Jordan – Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, discussed, during a phone call with Peruvian Foreign Minister Carlos Espa, ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand areas of cooperation between the two countries.
The call discussed opportunities to develop cooperation, especially in the economic and tourism fields. Additionally, the two sides also discussed enhancing coordination between Amman and Lima in international forums and organizations. This aims to serve common interests.

The two ministers agreed to hold the first round of political consultations between their respective foreign ministries as soon as possible, based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Jordan and Peru in 2005. This will contribute to strengthening diplomatic dialogue. It will also help in developing mechanisms for joint coordination.

The two sides also discussed regional developments and efforts to de-escalate tensions, restore calm, and enhance security and stability. In addition, they discussed a number of international issues of common interest.

Safadi congratulated his Peruvian counterpart on assuming his post, emphasizing Jordan’s commitment to continued joint efforts to elevate bilateral relations and open new avenues for cooperation between the two countries.

The agreement to launch political consultations reflects a shared desire to revitalize Jordanian-Peruvian relations. It also underscores the expansion of cooperation in the economic and tourism sectors. Furthermore, the agreement strengthens coordination on regional and international issues.
