Gaza, Palestine – President Mahmoud Abbas of the State of Palestine mourned with deep sorrow and immense pride the passing of the State of Palestine’s Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, the great national leader Diab al-Louh (Abu al-Nimr), who passed away this morning, Sunday, in the Egyptian capital, Cairo. He died after a distinguished national and diplomatic career marked by continuous dedication. Throughout his life, he devoted himself to serving the just cause of Palestine and defending the rights of its proud people. Notably, he did this in all international forums.
Presidential praise for the deceased’s virtues and national career
President Mahmoud Abbas praised the late leader’s virtues and his long career in struggle and diplomacy. He also noted his lifelong unwavering dedication and meticulous commitment to his national duty. In addition, he praised his high moral character, profound humility, and tolerance. Moreover, he further highlighted the late leader’s constant efforts to unify the Palestinian people and prioritize national interests above all else. The leader also remained close to his people, deeply concerned with their issues and needs.

The President of the State of Palestine extended his deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the family of the deceased, his loved ones, and to all the sons and daughters of the great Palestinian people in the homeland and the diaspora. Additionally, he offered his condolences to the members of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) and all factions of the Palestinian national movement. He also sent condolences to the staff of the Embassy of the State of Palestine in the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt and to his comrades and friends. The President prayed to God Almighty to grant the deceased His abundant mercy and a place in Paradise, among the prophets, the righteous, the martyrs, and the virtuous. The passing of a prominent national and diplomatic figure in Cairo
The prominent Palestinian ambassador, Diab al-Louh, known as “Abu al-Nimr,” one of the most distinguished national figures and veteran diplomats in the history of the modern Palestinian revolution, has passed away. He recently suffered a sudden and severe health crisis. As a result, he was admitted to a hospital in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, for treatment and medical care, before his passing.
Various official and popular Palestinian and Arab circles were quick to mourn the passing of the ambassador, expressing their profound sorrow and pride in his national career, marked by sacrifices and dedication. They all recalled his well-known selflessness, devotion, and unwavering and steadfast defense of the rights of the Palestinian people. Not only that, but they honored his work for their just cause and their national liberation project. Throughout his long tenure as Palestine’s ambassador to Cairo and its permanent representative to the League of Arab States, he left an indelible mark on strengthening and developing the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two brotherly peoples of Palestine and Egypt.
