Kyiv, Ukraine – The Ukrainian military announced it had carried out attacks targeting military and vital installations inside Russian territory. These attacks included an oil refinery and an airbase in the Saratov region. An oil storage facility in the Kaluga region was also targeted, as part of Kyiv’s operations against infrastructure supporting Russian military operations.
The Ukrainian military explained that the strikes were carried out using long-range offensive weapons and focused on targets it described as being of logistical and military importance. It also asserted that the operations aim to reduce Russia’s ability to support its forces engaged in combat.
The statement indicated that targeting oil and military installations is part of a strategy aimed at disrupting supply lines and support centers. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces continue to expand their operations deep inside Russia.
Russian authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the extent of the damage or potential casualties. Clashes between the two sides continue amidst an escalation of mutual airstrikes. Attacks on infrastructure in both Russia and Ukraine also persist.
