Cairo, Egypt – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi today held a telephone conversation with his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mishal al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, Emir of the sisterly State of Kuwait, during which they discussed developments in the region and the deep-rooted bilateral relations between the two countries.
During the call, the firm Egyptian position was reiterated, as President Sisi expressed Egypt’s categorical condemnation of the attacks to which the State of Kuwait was subjected by Iran, stressing that these practices represent a flagrant violation of international law and a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the entire region, and he accompanied this with Egypt’s complete rejection of any attempt to infringe on Kuwait’s sovereignty or tamper with its security and internal stability.
Sisi reiterated Egypt’s full solidarity with the State of Kuwait and its unwavering support for all measures taken by Kuwait to protect its security and safeguard the resources of its brotherly people. He also praised the wise leadership of the Emir of the State of Kuwait in managing the current regional circumstances and Kuwait’s constant commitment to avoiding regional escalation.
In the same context, the Egyptian President stressed that the security of Kuwait and all Arab countries is an integral part of Egyptian national security, pointing to the tireless efforts made by Cairo to contain regional tension and resolve various crises through peaceful and diplomatic means.
For his part, the Emir of Kuwait highly commended Egypt’s steadfast and unwavering support for the security and stability of Arab states, emphasizing the importance of further deepening the existing consultation and coordination between the two countries to maintain regional peace and stability and address shared challenges. His Highness also expressed his profound appreciation for Egypt’s support of his country in the current regional circumstances, praising Egypt’s wise and effective efforts to contain the tensions in the Middle East.
