Tehran, Iran – Iran’s Fars news agency reported on Sunday that an oil tanker was hit by an explosion in the Strait of Hormuz after colliding with a sea mine, noting that the tanker was traveling in a route contrary to the maritime routes designated by the Iranian authorities.
The agency quoted its sources as saying that the incident occurred after the tanker collided with a sea mine, without immediately clarifying the extent of the damage or whether there were any casualties or oil spills resulting from the explosion.
