Washington, United States – A group of security and foreign policy experts asserted that the military escalation against Iran may achieve short-term tactical results, but it will not be sufficient to inflict a strategic defeat on Tehran or end its regional influence.

According to statements cited by the US magazine “The Hill”, experts explained that Iran possesses diverse military capabilities, including an advanced ballistic missile arsenal and a wide network of allied forces in the Middle East, granting it the capacity to continue responding even under intensive strikes.

Limitations of Airstrikes and Regional Spillover Risks

Experts noted that airstrikes may delay certain Iranian military and nuclear programs and damage defense infrastructure, yet they cannot completely eradicate Iranian capabilities, proving the historical limitation of military force alone in achieving long-term political goals.

They emphasized that past experiences have repeatedly proven the limited impact of military force alone in achieving long-term political goals.

They warned that continued escalation could push Iran to broaden the confrontation by targeting US interests or Washington’s regional allies, opening the door to a wider regional conflict and increasing the cost for all parties.

The need to adopt a comprehensive pressure strategy

The experts concluded by emphasizing that any strategy aimed at changing Iran’s behavior or limiting its regional influence will require an integrated mix combining military, diplomatic, and economic pressure.

They argued that relying solely on the military option would not be sufficient to achieve these complex strategic goals.
