Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo – Health authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo announced that the death toll from the Ebola virus has risen to 1,309, as intensive governmental and international efforts continue to contain the outbreak and limit its spread in affected areas.

These developments come as field medical teams make relentless efforts to quarantine the virus and reduce infection rates in the hardest-hit regions.

Rising Toll and Continuous Epidemiological Tracking

Official reports indicated that casualties and infections continue to climb since the onset of the current outbreak, while medical teams intensified epidemiological tracking and contact tracing to control hidden chains of transmission.

Dedicated treatment centers continue to receive confirmed and suspected cases, alongside expanding health awareness campaigns and preventive measures to protect local communities from rising infection risks.

International Partnership and Complex Field Challenges

The Congolese Ministry of Health is maintaining close cooperation with the World Health Organization and international partners to implement rapid response programs, including securing medical supplies and strengthening laboratory capacities.

Despite these efforts, authorities face severe field challenges, including restricted access to certain affected regions, fragile healthcare infrastructure, and the pressing need to enhance community trust in preventive measures and medical care programs.
