London, United Kingdom – The UK Home Office has announced stringent legal and security measures targeting anyone who supports, assists, or receives funds from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC). In a move reflecting London’s determination to confront security threats, the new legislation imposes prison sentences of up to 14 years for violators. This reflects a clear policy to tighten the net on any presence or influence of the IRGC within the United Kingdom.

Harsh Penalties and Legal Deterrence

These new measures target all forms of support and cooperation with the IRGC, whether through direct or indirect assistance, or by receiving funding or dealing with money linked to the group. The British government has affirmed that current legislation empowers judicial authorities to impose prison sentences reaching 14 years, serving as a clear warning to anyone involved in activities that support this entity within British territory.

Intensified Security and Surveillance

This decision comes as part of a series of government moves to strengthen internal security against activities classified by Britain as threats to its national security. The Home Office has clarified that its security apparatus has begun intensifying surveillance on individuals and entities suspected of having ties to the IRGC. Authorities have emphasized that security operations will continue to track any suspicious financial or logistical transactions, ensuring that the law is firmly applied against all violators without exception.

Mounting Pressure on Tehran

The British decision comes amid escalating regional and international tensions related to Iran, as Western countries take rapid steps to tighten restrictions on entities and individuals linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). This British move reinforces the political and diplomatic pressure on Tehran, fueled by growing security concerns about the expansion of its subversive activities. This poses increasing challenges for Iranian officials in maintaining their support and funding networks abroad. The British Home Office announced strict legal and security measures targeting anyone who provides support or assistance to the IRGC, or receives funds from it. In a move reflecting London’s seriousness in confronting the security threats associated with these activities, the new legislation stipulates prison sentences of up to 14 years for offenders, in a clear effort to curtail any presence or influence of the IRGC within the United Kingdom.
