Jakarta, Indonesia – The Indonesian government has announced contingency plans to evacuate its citizens from several Middle Eastern countries amid escalating security tensions and fears of a wider conflict in the region. It confirmed that it is monitoring developments on the ground around the clock to ensure the safety of its citizens.

The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that authorities have raised the level of preparedness at its embassies and diplomatic missions. It has also developed multiple scenarios to address any sudden deterioration in the security situation, including the possibility of evacuations if circumstances warrant.

The ministry added that it continues to coordinate with the governments of the countries concerned. It is also in direct contact with Indonesian citizens residing and working in the region, urging them to adhere to safety instructions and update their contact information with the embassies to facilitate reaching them if needed.

Jakarta emphasized that the top priority at this stage is the protection of its citizens. It noted that diplomatic and consular teams are continuously monitoring developments and are prepared to take further measures as the situation evolves.

These actions come at a time of escalating tensions in the Middle East. These circumstances have prompted several countries to review their plans for protecting their citizens, amid concerns about the widening scope of the conflict and its impact on civilian security and travel in the region.
