Islamabad, Pakistan – Four Pakistani police officers were injured today in a terrorist attack targeting a security patrol in the country’s northwest. This comes amid ongoing security challenges in the border regions with Afghanistan.

Pakistani authorities stated that gunmen opened fire on the patrol while it was conducting a security operation. Four police officers were injured before security forces returned fire. The attackers managed to escape from the scene.

Following the incident, security forces imposed a security cordon in the area. A large-scale search and pursuit operation was launched to track down the perpetrators, while the wounded were transported to a hospital for treatment. These measures come amid assurances that their condition is stable.

Northwest Pakistan has recently witnessed an escalation in attacks targeting security forces. This has prompted authorities to intensify their military and security operations to pursue armed groups and enhance security and stability in those areas.
