Manama, Bahrain – The Kingdom of Bahrain expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the aggressive Iranian attack. Which targeted the two Emirati oil tankers, “Membasa” and “Al Bahia”, with two mobile missiles while they were crossing the southern corridor of the Strait of Hormuz in Omani territorial waters. This resulted in the death of one Indian crew member and the injury of others.
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered this a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability, and a serious violation of the provisions of international law. The United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and Security Council Resolution No. (2817).
The Ministry affirmed the Kingdom’s full solidarity with the UAE and its support for the legitimate measures it is taking to preserve its security, sovereignty and vital interests. Expressing the Kingdom’s sincere condolences and sympathy to the victim’s family and to the friendly state and people of India. She wishes a speedy recovery to all those injured.
