Aden, Yemen – The General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology in Yemen issued a circular ordering the closure of all airports in the country to air traffic until further notice.

This precautionary measure comes in light of the current security developments.

Suspension of all flights

The authority confirmed in its circular the suspension of all takeoffs and landings at Yemeni airports, effective immediately.

The closure will remain in effect until further notice. No date has been set for the resumption of air operations.

aimed at preserving the safety of civil aviation and travelers.

It also aims to protect operating crews in light of the developments taking place in the region.

This is in preparation for making a decision regarding the reopening of airports and the resumption of air traffic as soon as conditions allow.

Furthermore, coordination with relevant parties continues to ensure the safety of air navigation.
