Ramallah, Palestine – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas affirmed his commitment to continued cooperation and coordination with the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, aiming to bolster Arab efforts to support the Palestinian cause and defend the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people in various regional and international forums.
The Palestinian President explained that the current phase necessitates intensified Arab coordination and unified positions to confront the challenges facing the region. He also emphasized the crucial role of the League of Arab States in mobilizing political and diplomatic support for the Palestinian cause. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of strengthening efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace.
Abbas noted the Palestinian leadership’s commitment to continued consultation and cooperation with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States regarding political and humanitarian developments, and to joint efforts to support the Palestinian people, particularly in light of the current situation in the Palestinian territories.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States affirmed the League’s continued full support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights. He also stressed the importance of ongoing coordination with the Palestinian leadership. He further emphasized the need to strengthen joint Arab action at the regional and international levels to serve the efforts to achieve security and stability and to establish an independent Palestinian state in accordance with international law.
