Caracas, Venezuela – The death toll from the two powerful earthquakes that struck Venezuela has risen to 589, with 2,980 injured, as rescue and relief teams continue searching through the rubble.

Meanwhile, there are fears that the number of victims will rise further as access to the affected areas continues.

214 Aftershocks

Venezuela authorities announced that the country has recorded 214 aftershocks since the earthquakes.

This has complicated rescue operations and caused widespread anxiety among residents,

particularly in areas that suffered extensive damage to buildings and infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed that thousands of civil defense, military,

and emergency personnel are continuing their efforts to evacuate residents and provide humanitarian aid.

Shelters have been set up to accommodate families who lost their homes,

and medical and food supplies are being provided to the affected areas.

State of Emergency Declared

The disaster caused the collapse of dozens of buildings and disrupted electricity and communication services in several cities.

Meanwhile, authorities are working to restore essential services

and reopen damaged roads to ensure access for rescue teams and aid.

The government continues to declare a state of emergency in the worst-affected areas.

At the same time, messages of solidarity and international aid are pouring in to support relief efforts.

Warnings have also been issued about the possibility of continued aftershocks in the coming days,

urging residents to remain vigilant and follow the instructions of the relevant authorities.
